This should tell you something about the number of ear infections Esther has had. When she plays doctor and checks ears, she pretends to change the tip of the tool before looking in the ear.

Emma's Cronicles party was fantastic with lots of swords, princesses, a treasure hunt through Narnia, and a visit from Mr. Tumnus. Happy 6th Birthday Emma!

The other day I went up to wake Esther from her nap. But I couldn't find her. Because the gates were up in both doors, I knew she had to be in the room somewhere. I checked under the covers in both her and her sister's bed. This is finally where I found her:


Of course I had to check under the bed a couple times since she was all the way in the corner and had stuffed animals piled around her. Trying to extract a sleeping child from a space where I barely fit without causing her to pop up and bump her head is not easy. And what kid actually seeks out the place where we all know monsters lurk?? Sometimes I wonder what is wrong with my children.

A very exciting rite of passage! Emma lost her first tooth the other day. She wiggled it until it came out with very little blood and no pulling. The tooth fairy visited that night--she swears she remembers the fairy feeling under her pillow but I can promise that she didn't even roll over.
